MTN Bushfire Festival 2025

The End Malaria Fund (EMF), in collaboration with the National Malaria Programme (NMP) and the Eswatini Malaria Youth Army, participated in the annual MTN Bushfire Festival. This strategic presence aimed to increase public awareness on malaria, raise funds to support elimination efforts, and recruit youth into the national advocacy movement.

EMF secured a stall at the United Nations Bring Your Fire Zone through the African Leaders Malaria Alliance, with MTN Bushfire sponsoring part of the cost by discounting the stall to E20,000 from the proposed E60,000. The stall was well‑positioned to attract attendees and deliver impact.

Objectives:

• End Malaria Fund: Solicit donations to support malaria elimination initiatives in Eswatini.

• National Malaria Programme: Provide malaria education, highlighting prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

• Eswatini Malaria Youth Army: Engage young people and encourage participation in malaria awareness and advocacy.

Outcomes:

• Increased public engagement and awareness, especially among youth and urban festivalgoers.

• Direct community involvement through fundraising and recruitment activities.

• Enhanced visibility of national malaria efforts via a shared platform.

• Strengthened collaboration between EMF, NMP, and the Youth Army through successful joint participation.
